Moruya is set on the banks of the sparkling Moruya River, surrounded by lush dairy flats and with the Deua National Park forming the craggy forest terrain backdrop. It is a relaxed country town with a thriving arts scene and a rich and interesting history. It is famous for supplying the granite used in the pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and many of the town's magnificent old buildings are also made from this local stone.

Moruya has a lively arts and events program with the annual Jazz Festival held each October boasting an amazingly varied program with big-name jazz musicians playing in relaxed country venues and an entertaining street parade.Moruya is also host to the River of Art in May, which celebrates the ebb and flow of visual art, sculpture, performing arts, film and theatre that thrives here and there is an annual rodeo each New Years Day!

Moruya
Moruya has an eclectic mix of specialty shops, including boutique fashion and homewares, antiques and second hand stores. There are colourful country markets every Saturday morning and the wonderful award winning SAGE Growers Market on Tuesday afternoons, both held at Riverside Park.

South Head is a surfing mecca not just for locals and visitors, but for large pods of dolphins often seen enjoying the breakwater as though it was an aquatic massage.
